The Dragon Slayers
The capital is a sprawling city of nearly 120,000 people at the mouth of the river Susa, from which it takes its name. Wealthy and powerful, its position near the centre of the kingdom’s coast has led rise to the nickname Rivers of Gold for the coastal traderoutes that flow into the capital via cart and ship.
During the Age of War, Susa was considered a huge symbol of pride (and cash) for the warring human factions, and control of the city changed hands frequently. As such its layered walls crumble in places, and districts of the city contain plenty of half-demolished ruins of centuries past (now mostly scavenged for building material) as the city was sacked, burned and pillaged on a regular basis.
Now though, the peace forged by King Sargon makes Susa a thriving metropolis, and from his seat on the Starmetal Throne (a gift of immeasurable value from the Dwarves, given to commemorate the end of the wars with the mountainhomes) he oversees control of the city and his vassals through the combined might of his knightly orders and his adept grasp of politics.
